Poster design for the Haarlemse Lente, an art event. Screenprint, A2. The Haarlemse Lente (Harlem Spring) is an annually art festival in Haarlem. This years theme was: Form Follows Fiction and revered to the massive amount of information which is fragmentized and shared throughout new media. The Dutch Poet Lucas Hirsch wrote a poem which was recited at the opening and acted as a lead role in this promotion assignment. In this collaboration with Yacine Benmial we designed 4 posters which all show a specific part of the poem and are coupled with a social media action. In this way we took the content of the “classic” poem and gave it a new context. We based our design on social/new media. In this way we took the form from these media and took it out of context by making a screen print. The posters were distributed throughout the city of Haarlem.
