The Willem de Kooning Academy had an exchange project with students from an Indian art school. The assigment was to create a visual promotion of the exchange week with recognition for both cultures and embrace the design culture we live in. As a graphic designer I decided to embraced the fact that we know nothing about other cultures. I created a new sign system based on our assumptions with visual reverence to Otto Neurath and Dick Bruna. Both designers professionalised their prejudices about other cultures. The result was a a cheeky suggestions for countless posters to open the dialog between cultures and let both Indian and Dutch students wonder in a Art School full of unlogical and absurd signs based on assumptions that do not match reality.
It was pitched but didn’t made it because of the edginess.
